Rosemount Australian Fashion Week: Romance Was Born
The new spring summer 09/10 collection by Romance Was Born is cutely named Doiles and Pearls, Oysters and Shells and you'll see why after seeing photos of the collection!
Obviously this season Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett were influenced by the magical qualities of the sea; kinda makes you wanna sing "under the sea" from The Little Mermaid. Although the true aesthetic of Romance Was Born is still there; crotchet, pom poms, colour and whimsical styling, there is more to this collection.
Beautiful underwater stage props were used, as well as lots of foliage and greenery providing the backdrop to the underwater runway show, complete with bubbles.
With beautifully made up mermaid like models, beading, greenery and pearls made up the pretty faces of the mermaid models for the collection (perfectly conveying the themes of the collection):
Like many previous Romance Was Born collections, again this one focuses on women's clothing with a hint of mens thrown in. While the majority of the collection for the girls anyway were a bit too over the top, I would certainly give it a go!
